Former national team captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar share perspectives on coaching paths, club loyalties, and the upcoming Maribor-Olimpija derby.

Former Slovenian national football team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have offered perspectives on their careers and the domestic game in separate interviews.

Čeh, a prominent figure in Slovenian football history, discussed transitioning into coaching after his playing career. He spent over a decade assisting manager Srečko Katanec, including a seven-year stint coaching in Asia, while remaining closely tied to Olimpija Ljubljana and Austrian club Grazer AK.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Ljubljana native Mlakar addressed his third stint with Maribor. Expressing trust in club management under Zlatko Zahovič and Darko Milanič, Mlakar noted that despite Olimpija's recent internal troubles, derby matches remain unpredictable and offer struggling teams a chance to regain momentum.
