Russian strikes target Kyiv as North Korean missile unit deploys to Voronezh
Overnight Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv left up to 17 dead, while reports revealed North Korea is deploying a ballistic missile unit to Russia.
An overnight Russian attack using ballistic missiles and strike drones hit Kyiv and the surrounding region, resulting in significant casualties and structural damage. Ukrainian authorities reported extensive destruction, including fires and damaged industrial warehouses in the Bucha district. Local officials and media outlets offered varying casualty counts, reporting between 15 and 17 deaths and over 40 to 51 people injured across the capital and its outskirts.
Meanwhile, intelligence reports cited by media indicated that a North Korean missile unit equipped with six launchers and approximately 120 ballistic missiles is deploying to Russia's Voronezh region.
On the ground, Ukrainian troops continued operations to dislodge Russian forces from positions in Kupyansk and took prisoners near Oleksijevo-Druzhkivka. Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced upcoming leadership adjustments within the nation's armed forces and Defense Ministry.
