Russian forces hit Kyiv with drones following Zelensky's UN speech, as Brussels warns Moscow over security incidents inside the European Union.

Russian forces executed fresh overnight drone strikes on Kyiv, injuring a resident amid intensified bombardments following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the United Nations General Assembly. Concurrently, Moscow's Defence Ministry formally announced a campaign targeting Ukraine's energy grid ahead of winter. In response, Ukrainian long-range drone attacks against Russian oil infrastructure have disrupted refining capacity, forcing Moscow to import fuel.

Meanwhile, security concerns in Western Europe escalated after German investigators identified two suspects linked to Moscow regarding explosive drone incidents near Leipzig. Addressing the discovery, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a stern warning: "We do not tolerate attacks on EU soil, ready to respond."
