Russian strikes hit Kyiv as EU warns Moscow over European drone sabotage

Russian strikes hit Kyiv following Zelensky's UN speech, while the EU warns Moscow over German drone sabotage incidents.
Russian forces launched renewed overnight drone attacks against Kyiv, injuring a resident following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the United Nations General Assembly. Russian defense officials confirmed an intensified military campaign aimed at disabling Ukraine's energy infrastructure before winter. In response, recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries have disrupted local fuel supplies, compelling Moscow to import petroleum.
Concurrently, European security concerns escalated after German authorities identified two suspects tied to Moscow regarding explosive drone incidents in Leipzig. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that the European Union "will not tolerate attacks" on its territory and remains prepared to respond.
