EU warns Moscow following fresh Kyiv strikes and German sabotage probe

Russian forces launched a fresh overnight drone attack against Kyiv, injuring at least one resident shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the United Nations General Assembly. Moscow's defense ministry announced a renewed military campaign specifically targeting Ukraine's power grid ahead of winter. In response, Ukrainian strikes against Russian oil facilities have caused domestic fuel shortages in Russia, forcing it to import petroleum products.

Security concerns across Western Europe also heightened after German authorities identified two suspects tied to Moscow in connection with explosive drone incidents in Leipzig. Reacting to the developments, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the bloc "will not tolerate attacks" on its territory and is prepared to deploy defensive measures.
