At least 17 people died in Russian strikes on Kyiv as heavy fighting continues along Ukraine's eastern front and Russia deploys North Korean missiles.

An overnight barrage of Russian missiles and drones targeting Kyiv and surrounding areas has left at least 17 people dead and over 40 injured, according to local officials and emergency services.

On the eastern front, Ukraine's General Staff reported 233 combat engagements over 24 hours, with intense fighting persisting near Pokrovsk and Kupiansk. Meanwhile, intelligence reports indicate that Russia has begun deploying a North Korean ballistic missile unit equipped with six launchers and up to 120 missiles in the Voronezh region.

In Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced planned reshuffles within the country's military leadership and defense ministry.
