Russian strikes kill 17 in Kyiv region as North Korean missile unit deploys to Voronezh

Russian forces launched an extensive overnight barrage of ballistic missiles and drones against Kyiv and surrounding areas, leaving up to 17 people dead and more than 40 injured. Local authorities reported widespread fires alongside substantial damage to storage facilities, transport infrastructure, and commercial sites across the capital region.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian military intelligence reported that Russia has begun deploying a North Korean missile detachment in Voronezh Oblast. The unit is reportedly equipped with six mobile launchers and expected to field up to 120 ballistic missiles for operations against Ukraine.

On the front lines, intense fighting persisted in Kupyansk as Ukrainian forces engaged entrenched Russian troops, while additional Russian soldiers were captured in the Kostiantynivka sector. Russian leadership also signalled upcoming command reshuffles within its defence structures.
