Russian strikes killed at least 17 in Kyiv, while Ukrainian counter-attacks targeted Russian territory and an Italian naval ship intercepted a shadow fleet tanker.

Russian strikes on Kyiv and the surrounding region killed at least 17 people and injured 44, prompting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to state that additional interception systems "could have saved the lives of those who were killed today."

Concurrently, Ukrainian strikes targeted Russian positions and border regions. A Ukrainian drone attack near Gelendzhik on the Black Sea coast, along with strikes in Crimea and Belgorod, reportedly resulted in at least 12 civilian casualties, while another raid on Moscow's outskirts killed five people.

In maritime developments, an Italian military vessel boarded a Russian shadow fleet oil tanker off the island of Pantelleria. Meanwhile, political discussions continue over Western military assistance, with former U.S. President Donald Trump warning about advanced technology transfers, arguing, "We must be careful who we give our weapon secrets to."
