Portugal's parliament has rejected a no-confidence motion introduced by Chega against the minority government following a three-hour debate.

Portugal’s parliament has rejected a motion of no confidence introduced by the far-right Chega party against the country's minority government. The vote followed a three-hour debate centered on recent controversies surrounding the Minister of Internal Administration. Members of the governing coalition voted against the proposal, while the main opposition Socialist Party abstained, ensuring the motion failed.

Following the debate, Minister of the Presidency António Leitão Amaro criticized both Chega for initiating the vote and the Socialists for abstaining. Leitão Amaro stated that the executive continues to govern without a "preferential partner" in parliament, adding that Chega's actions would face a "political judgment" from voters. The outcome highlights persistent political friction between the minority administration and parliamentary opposition groups.
