Portugal's minority government survived a parliamentary no-confidence motion submitted by Chega after the Socialist Party abstained.

Portugal’s minority government survived a motion of no confidence introduced by the far-right Chega party, following a parliamentary debate focused on recent political controversies involving the Minister of Internal Administration.

The censure measure failed after members of the governing coalition voted against it while the main opposition Socialist Party abstained. During the debate, Minister of the Presidency António Leitão Amaro directed criticism at both Chega and the Socialists, affirming that the executive would maintain its stance of governing without a "preferential partner" in parliament. Leitão Amaro added that Chega’s decision to trigger the vote would ultimately face a "political judgment" from voters.

The rejection of the motion keeps the minority executive in office, though it remains under continued scrutiny from legislative opposition.
