Militaries across the globe are integrating artificial intelligence and advanced electronics into battlefield operations, transforming drone warfare and missile guidance.

Global militaries and technology firms continue to expand the role of artificial intelligence on modern battlefields. Former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt noted that autonomous systems in Ukraine represent a fundamental transformation in the history of warfare, with software-driven drones supplanting conventional heavy equipment. Former Ukrainian defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov described the confrontation as a technological war reliant on rapid innovation cycles and domestic robotics.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's military intelligence reported identifying a US-made microcomputer inside a newly manufactured Russian missile, pointing to potential AI-guided targeting capabilities. At the same time, commercial and strategic restrictions persist, as SpaceX head Elon Musk continues to block the use of Starlink satellite terminals for strikes within Russian borders. Concurrently, China's armed forces have adopted a specialized AI system designed to coordinate and execute synchronized, large-scale air strikes across multiple targets.
