Intense fighting continues as Ukraine conducts counter-operations near Kupyansk
Ukrainian forces advance near Kupyansk while repelling over 200 Russian attacks across the eastern front line, according to military reports.
Heavy combat continues along the front line, with the Ukrainian General Staff recording between 221 and 254 engagements in a single 24-hour period. Russian offensives remained focused on the Lyman, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk sectors, featuring over 30 attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Lyman.
Concurrently, Ukrainian troops carried out targeted counter-operations. Infantry advanced on the right bank of the Oskil River north of Kupyansk after disabling Russian drone capabilities. Reports also indicated expanding Ukrainian control over up to 200 square kilometers in the Lyman area.
Official claims continue to conflict along several directions. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported capturing settlements on the approaches to Sumy and denied Ukrainian counterattacks in Zaporizhzhia, while Ukrainian strikes hit ammunition depots in the Kyiv region.
