High-intensity combat continues across eastern Ukrainian front

Heavy fighting persists across eastern and northern Ukraine, with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recording between 220 and over 250 daily combat engagements. Russian forces launched dozens of assaults targeting the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kostiantynivka sectors in an effort to break through Ukrainian defensive positions.

In response, Ukrainian troops executed localized counteractions. North of Kupiansk, Ukrainian infantry conducted clearing operations along the Oskil River following electronic warfare strikes that temporarily suppressed Russian drone capabilities. Additionally, reports indicate potential Ukrainian gains covering up to 200 square kilometers near Lyman.

Official accounts remain divided over territorial developments. While Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed to have captured several settlements near Sumy, Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov publicly denied Ukrainian tactical progress in Zaporizhzhia.
