Heavy fighting continues in eastern Ukraine as drone strikes claim civilian lives
Ukrainian forces repelled over 200 Russian assaults while making tactical gains near Kupiansk amid ongoing overnight Russian drone strikes.
Heavy fighting continues across eastern and southern Ukraine, with Ukrainian forces recording between 220 and 250 daily combat engagements. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported intense Russian assaults along the Pokrovsk, Lyman, Kostiantynivka, and Slobozhanskyi axes.
Despite persistent Russian pressure, Ukrainian units executed localized infantry operations, making tactical gains north of Kupiansk along the Oskil River. However, conflicting territorial claims remain regarding the Sumy and Zaporizhzhia fronts, where Russian officials asserted local advances and dismissed Ukrainian progress.
Concurrently, Russian forces launched overnight attacks using 138 uncrewed aerial vehicles. Ukrainian authorities confirmed several civilian fatalities, including a mother and two children killed in Kyiv Oblast and a priest killed during a drone strike on a monastery in Kherson Oblast.
