Heavy engagements continue along Ukraine's eastern front amid conflicting claims

Frontline operations across eastern Ukraine remain intense, with the Ukrainian General Staff reporting over 250 combat engagements in a single day. Major Russian assault efforts continue to target the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kostiantynivka directions, where defenders report repelling dozens of offensive maneuvers.

Concurrently, tactical shifts are underway near Kupiansk, where Ukrainian forces executed infantry operations along the Oskil River following electronic warfare counter-drone measures. However, conflicting territorial reports persist: Russia's Ministry of Defence claimed advances on the Sumy axis, while Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov disputed reported Ukrainian gains in Zaporizhzhia.

Away from the frontline, Russian drone strikes hit civilian targets across Ukraine. Overnight attacks involving over 130 unmanned aerial vehicles resulted in fatalities in Kyiv Oblast, where a mother and her two children were killed, and in Kherson Oblast, where a drone struck a monastery, killing a priest.
