Heavy combat persists in eastern Ukraine as frontline claims diverge

Fierce combat continues across eastern and northern Ukraine, with Ukrainian military reports recording over 250 daily engagements. Heavy Russian pressure persists along the Lyman, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk fronts, where Ukrainian forces repelled dozens of infantry assaults.

Concurrently, Ukrainian troops executed tactical clearing operations along the Oskil River north of Kupyansk after electronic warfare systems disrupted Russian drone capabilities. Further counter-operations in the Lyman sector aim to reclaim up to 200 square kilometers.

Conflicting narratives over territorial control remain. Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported gains near Sumy, and Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov denied Ukrainian progress in Zaporizhzhia. Separately, strikes targeted ammunition depots in the Kyiv region.
