French and Greek emergency services continue responding to seasonal wildfires as arrests are made in France and flare-ups persist near Athens.

Emergency responders in France and Greece continue battling wildfires and assessing widespread destruction. French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez stated that 14,540 fire starts have occurred this season, resulting in over 400 arrests—including 156 minors—and 36 detentions. In Gironde, residents of Le Porge have returned to inspect destroyed homes as local recovery efforts begin.

In Greece, conditions west of Athens have improved after five days of blazes that consumed thousands of hectares of forest and agricultural land. However, rekindled flames near Megara required renewed water-bombing operations. Separately, official data indicates France's annual debt servicing costs increased by €5 billion, compounding fiscal challenges.
