Former captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar have shared insights into their coaching transitions, career paths, and the state of Slovenian football.

Former Slovenian national team football figures have shared perspectives on their careers and the domestic league landscape. Former national team captain Aleš Čeh, who led the squad during manager Srečko Katanec's prominent tenure, highlighted his transition into coaching. Čeh served as Katanec’s assistant for more than ten years, including a seven-year stint in Asia, while maintaining respect for top Slovenian clubs like Olimpija Ljubljana and NK Maribor.

Concurrently, 27-year-old forward Jan Mlakar has rejoined NK Maribor for a third tenure, aiming to secure his first league title with the club. Mlakar expressed confidence in Maribor leadership figures Zlatko Zahović and Darko Milanič. Commenting on the upcoming derby against rivals Olimpija Ljubljana, Mlakar observed that despite their ongoing institutional crisis, Olimpija remains a formidably competitive opponent in head-to-head matches.
