Aleš Čeh and Jan Mlakar reflect on their coaching and playing careers, NK Maribor's ambitions, and the upcoming derby against Olimpija Ljubljana.

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have shared insights regarding their career trajectories and the state of domestic football.

Čeh, a key figure in Slovenia's early international successes, reflected on his transition to coaching. After working over a decade as an assistant to manager Srečko Katanec—including seven years in Asia—he expressed lingering affection for former clubs Olimpija Ljubljana and Grazer AK while maintaining respect for NK Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old striker Mlakar has rejoined NK Maribor for a third spell, aiming to secure his first league title with the club. Commenting on the upcoming derby against rival Olimpija Ljubljana, Mlakar noted that despite Olimpija's internal challenges, the team remains a dangerous adversary in direct matchups.
