Former grain exporter defends front-line Ukrainian farm against drones

Former grain export manager Viktor Hordienko now defends his front-line Ukrainian farm against Russian drones using personal firearms.
Before the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian logistics specialist Viktor Hordienko coordinated international grain exports, travelling frequently across Europe and studying in China. Today, Hordienko remains near the front line, using a shotgun to defend his agricultural operations against incoming Russian drone strikes.
His experience reflects the drastic personal and economic shifts experienced by Ukrainian agricultural workers during the ongoing conflict. Despite severe physical risks and targeted aerial attacks on rural food production infrastructure, farmers near active hostilities continue working to secure local yields and support the national economy.
