Fighting continues in Ukraine as EU officials condemn border region strike

Russian shelling in Kherson killed two people, while Ukrainian drones struck Sochi and Belgorod. EU leaders condemned a train attack near the Polish border.
Military operations between Russia and Ukraine persisted alongside diplomatic statements regarding potential limits on energy infrastructure strikes. Local officials reported that Russian shelling in the Kherson region resulted in two deaths and 14 injuries. Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone strikes in Sochi and Belgorod reportedly injured seven individuals.
Addressing security developments, European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian strike on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border. Both officials asserted that the attack was designed to intimidate European nations and foster division among allies supporting Kyiv. In parallel, the EU moved to extend its restrictive measures against Moscow.
