Russian strikes hit Kyiv while Brussels warns Moscow after German authorities link suspects tied to Russia to explosive drone incidents in Leipzig.

Russian forces conducted additional drone strikes against Kyiv, injuring a resident following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's speech at the United Nations General Assembly. The assault aligns with a stated campaign by Moscow's defence ministry to systematically target Ukraine's energy network.

In response to the broader conflict, Ukrainian aerial attacks against Russian petroleum facilities have curtailed domestic fuel availability, compelling Russia to purchase refined supplies internationally.

Meanwhile, security concerns extended into Western Europe after German investigators linked two suspects connected with Moscow to explosive drone incidents near Leipzig. Addressing the escalation, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen affirmed that the bloc "will not tolerate attacks on EU soil" and indicated readiness to react to potential threats within member states.
