EU warns Moscow as Russian strikes hit Kyiv and Leipzig drone plot uncovered

Russian forces carried out fresh drone attacks on Kyiv, injuring a resident shortly after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the United Nations General Assembly. In his speech, Zelensky described Russian President Vladimir Putin as "patient zero who wanted the war."

Concurrently, Russia's Defense Ministry announced a new offensive aimed at destroying Ukraine's energy infrastructure. In response, Ukrainian drone strikes hit several Russian refineries, disrupting domestic fuel supplies and forcing Moscow to import petrol.

Tensions also heightened across Europe following the identification of two suspects linked to Moscow in connection with explosive drone incidents in Leipzig, Germany. Addressing the security breach, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a firm statement, asserting, "We do not tolerate attacks on EU soil, ready to respond."
