Updated EU rules extend Ukrainian protection to 2028 under military duty conditions, while Czech officials assess Kyiv visits and labor fraud.

Czech Deputy Speaker Barbora Urbanová visited Kyiv for bilateral parliamentary talks following an earlier rejection by the Czech parliamentary steering committee. Meanwhile, Czech Chief of General Staff Miroslav Hlaváč is awaiting Ministry of Defence authorization to join European military leaders at an upcoming security conference in Ukraine.

At the European level, updated regulations have extended temporary protection status for displaced Ukrainians until March 2028, while newly conditioning eligibility on individuals fulfilling their domestic military service duties. Concurrently, discussions in the Czech parliament addressed findings from the Kobra 26 task force, which indicated that fraudulent labor agency networks and uncollected social security contributions involving Ukrainian workers are depriving the state treasury of billions of crowns.
