The EU extended sanctions against Moscow following strikes in Kherson, Sochi, and Belgorod, as Donald Trump claimed an energy infrastructure agreement.

The European Union has extended its sanctions against Russia following fresh escalations in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. EU diplomatic chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian attack on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border, describing it as an effort to divide and intimidate European partners.

Ground hostilities persist, with recent shelling in Ukraine's Kherson region resulting in two deaths and 14 injuries. Ukrainian drone operations reportedly left seven individuals injured across Russia's Belgorod region and Sochi. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the country's prosecutor general by official decree.

The developments come as US President Donald Trump stated that both Moscow and Kyiv have reached an agreement to halt strikes targeting energy infrastructure.
