The EU has extended sanctions against Russia following a border strike, while Donald Trump claims Kyiv and Moscow agreed to halt energy infrastructure attacks.

The European Union has extended its sanctions against Russia following a strike on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned the attack, describing it as an effort to "intimidate and divide Europeans."

The development coincided with ongoing military engagements across multiple fronts. Ukrainian authorities reported two fatalities and 14 injuries from shelling in the Kherson region, while Ukrainian drone strikes reportedly injured seven people in Russia's Belgorod and Sochi territories.

Diplomatically, US President Donald Trump announced that Moscow and Kyiv have agreed to refrain from targeting energy infrastructure. In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed an official decree removing the nation's prosecutor general from office.
