The EU extended sanctions on Russia following a border train attack, as fighting continues in Kherson, Belgorod, and Sochi.

The European Union has extended sanctions against Russia following a recent missile strike on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned the shelling, calling it an attempt to intimidate European nations.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Moscow and Kyiv have reached a deal to stop targeting each other's energy infrastructure. In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued an official decree removing the country's prosecutor general from office.

On the ground, fighting continues across multiple fronts. Local authorities reported that Russian shelling in the Kherson region killed two people and wounded 14 others. Concurrently, Ukrainian drone strikes reportedly injured seven individuals in Russia's Sochi and Belgorod regions.
