The EU renewed sanctions on Russia following a train attack near Poland, while U.S. President Donald Trump claimed an agreement was reached to halt strikes on energy infrastructure.

The European Union has formally extended sanctions against Russia following a recent attack on a train near the border with Poland. European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned the strike, stating that Moscow intended to cause intimidation and spark divisions among European partners.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that both Kyiv and Moscow agreed to stop targeting energy infrastructure. In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued an official decree dismissing the nation's prosecutor general.

On the ground, fighting continues across multiple regions. Ukrainian officials reported two deaths and 14 injuries from Russian shelling in Kherson, while drone strikes in Russia's Belgorod and Sochi regions reportedly injured seven people.
