Eastern Ukraine sees intense fighting amid conflicting front-line claims

Ukrainian forces have reported continuing high-intensity combat, recording between 220 and over 250 engagements daily across the eastern and southern fronts. Russian troops launched multiple assaults targeting the Lyman, Pokrovsk, and Kostiantynivka sectors in attempts to penetrate Ukrainian defensive lines.

Simultaneously, Ukrainian infantry executed localized operations north of Kupyansk on the right bank of the Oskil River, leveraging electronic warfare to disrupt enemy drone capabilities. Independent reports also indicated potential Ukrainian gains of up to 200 square kilometers near Lyman.

However, conflicting accounts persist regarding overall territorial control. Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed recent advances in the Sumy region and explicitly denied any Ukrainian progress in Zaporizhzhia, contrasting with reports of Ukrainian counter-advances. Meanwhile, ammunition depots in the Kyiv region were targeted amid ongoing long-range strikes.
