Czech PM Andrej Babiš warned of potential Russian hybrid attacks as Czech officials address diplomatic travel to Ukraine and new EU refugee regulations.

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš confirmed that domestic security agencies are monitoring potential Russian hybrid attacks against states supporting Ukraine, aligning with warnings from Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The development comes as Deputy Speaker Barbora Urbanová met with Ukrainian counterpart Olena Kondratiuk in Kyiv, despite previous Czech parliamentary steering committee resistance. Concurrently, Chief of General Staff Miroslav Hlaváč awaits Ministry of Defence clearance to attend a security summit with European military commanders in Ukraine.

At the European level, updated regulations extending temporary protection status for displaced Ukrainians until March 2028 have come into force, making protection conditional on fulfilling home-country military service obligations. Meanwhile, Czech authorities continue investigating fraudulent labor agency networks that have deprived the state of tax revenue.
