Cross-border strikes between Russia and Ukraine continue as diplomatic talks approach and statements emerge regarding potential agreements on energy infrastructure.

Reciprocal military strikes between Russia and Ukraine persisted overnight despite upcoming diplomatic negotiations and claims of a prospective halt on targeting energy infrastructure.

Russian drone and missile attacks struck several Ukrainian regions, causing civilian casualties and fatalities in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. In response, Ukrainian forces targeted Russian infrastructure, including an oil refinery alongside locations in Sochi and the Belgorod region.

The continued hostilities coincide with statements from U.S. President Donald Trump claiming both nations agreed to refrain from attacking energy targets. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted Kyiv's compliance depends on Western partners guaranteeing Russian restraint against energy sites, supply lines, and food corridors. European officials also condemned recent Russian attacks near the Polish border as intimidation tactics intended to divide allies.
