Fighting continues in Kherson and Belgorod despite reported energy agreement, while the EU extends sanctions against Moscow and Volodymyr Zelensky dismisses Ukraine's prosecutor general.

Following statements by US President Donald Trump regarding a preliminary agreement between Moscow and Kyiv to halt strikes on energy infrastructure, military operations have continued across several fronts. Local Ukrainian officials reported that shelling in the Kherson region killed two people and injured 14 others. Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone strikes reportedly wounded seven individuals in Russia's Belgorod region and the Black Sea resort city of Sochi.

On the political front, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree officially removing the nation's prosecutor general from office. Concurrently, the European Union extended its sanctions regime against Russia. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned a Russian strike near the Polish border, describing it as an attempt to intimidate European allies.
