Russian and Ukrainian forces report conflicting claims across multiple fronts
Ukrainian forces advance near Kupiansk and Lyman while Russia claims gains near Sumy and rejects Ukrainian progress in Zaporizhzhia.
Ukrainian forces are making gains north of Kupiansk along the right bank of the Oskil River, with Kyiv expected to confirm control over nearly 200 square kilometers in the Lyman sector. Simultaneously, the Russian Ministry of Defence announced that its forces captured several settlements on the approaches to Sumy and carried out targeted strikes on ammunition depots in the Kyiv region.
In the southern Zaporizhzhia sector, Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov directly denied reports of Ukrainian tactical successes, insisting Russian defensive lines remain intact. The opposing operational reports reflect a highly active and disputed battleground spanning northern, eastern, and southern sectors of the conflict.
