US unlikely to sign Patriot co-production deal with Ukraine before winter
Washington will not finalize a long-term Patriot missile co-production agreement with Ukraine before this winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker.
United States Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker has stated that Washington is unlikely to finalize a long-term agreement with Ukraine regarding the co-production of Patriot air defense interceptor missiles before the upcoming winter.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Whitaker explained that despite delays surrounding sensitive Patriot technology, the United States continues to collaborate with Kyiv and European partners on manufacturing other air defense hardware. Ukraine has been eager to bolster its domestic defense production alongside Western allies to safeguard critical infrastructure against potential winter strikes from Russia.
While Patriot missile manufacturing rights remain restricted for now, Washington maintains its broader security commitment to Kyiv through joint regional defense initiatives.
