Gaza ceasefire enters second phase as Israel rejects 15-point roadmap
The Peace Council announced the second stage of the Gaza ceasefire despite Israel rejecting a 15-point plan, while tenders surfaced for an international force base.
The US-led Peace Council has declared the beginning of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire framework, despite Israel's Security Cabinet rejecting a 15-point roadmap drafted alongside Egypt and Hamas. Israeli officials formally communicated to Washington that the proposed terms—which require halting military operations, a phased Israeli troop withdrawal, and handing administrative control to Palestinian technocrats—remain unacceptable in their current form.
Concurrently, reports indicate that the Peace Council's initial reconstruction contract in Gaza involves building a military installation. The planned facility is slated to house approximately 150 Moroccan personnel serving as part of an international stabilization force.
