Netanyahu rejects Trump's Gaza plan, ruling out troop pullout before Hamas disarms
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a US-backed 15-point peace plan for Gaza, insisting military forces will not withdraw until Hamas is fully disarmed.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a 15-point peace plan for Gaza backed by US President Donald Trump, reiterating that Israeli forces will not pull back from the enclave until Hamas is "genuinely disarmed."
Addressing his cabinet, Netanyahu stated that the military "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and will continue to thwart threats against our forces." The refusal follows Hamas's acceptance of the US-backed document in late July, as well as American pressure that reportedly prompted a pause in major Israeli strikes in Gaza.
Netanyahu's firm position highlights growing strain between his administration and Washington ahead of Israel's scheduled elections on October 27, with the prime minister navigating demands from far-right coalition allies alongside international pressure.
