Trump claims US-Iran talks have resumed despite Tehran's denial
US President Donald Trump claims diplomatic talks with Iran have resumed, though Tehran denies any meetings, while domestic legal and polling challenges mount.
US President Donald Trump announced that diplomatic negotiations with Iran have resumed, characterising the exchanges as "very friendly." Speaking to reporters, Trump framed the discussions as Tehran's final opportunity to negotiate a settlement following a temporary pause in US and Israeli strikes. However, Iranian officials contradicted these claims, stating that no discussions are taking place or scheduled.
Concurrently, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dismissed news reports alleging that American ammunition reserves have reached dangerously low levels. On the domestic front, multiple US states have launched legal challenges against the administration's new import tariffs. Additionally, recent polling indicates a sharp decline in public support for Trump ahead of the upcoming November midterm elections.
