Zelenskyy seeks prosecutor general's removal after allegations against anti-corruption chief
Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged parliament to remove Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko following accusations against NABU chief Semen Kryvonos.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy requested parliament expedite the removal of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko following a public confrontation with anti-corruption authorities. Kravchenko announced a notice of suspicion against Semen Kryvonos, head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), alleging document forgery and a fake adoption used to avoid prosecution. Shortly after posting his video statement, Kravchenko reportedly departed the country in a state vehicle.
In response, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) stated that Kryvonos had not been formally served. The agencies characterized Kravchenko’s actions as an attempt to undermine their investigation into a criminal network involving current and former lawmakers, as well as officials within the President's Office.
