Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced charges against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos before leaving the country, drawing pushback from anti-graft agencies.

Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko signed a notice of suspicion against National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) Director Semen Kryvonos, accusing him of forging official documents for financial gain and orchestrating a sham adoption to evade prosecution.

In response, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) stated that Kryvonos was never formally served a notice of suspicion. The agencies framed the allegations as an attempt to derail ongoing investigations into high-level corruption involving current and former parliamentarians as well as officials within the President's Office.

Following his announcement on social media, Kravchenko reportedly departed Ukraine in a government vehicle, prompting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to request parliament to rapidly dismiss the prosecutor general.
