US-Ukraine Patriot production deal delayed past winter as drone strikes hit Russian warehouses
A US-Ukraine agreement to co-produce Patriot air defence missiles will not be concluded before winter, as drone strikes cause casualties at commercial warehouses in Russia.
A bilateral pact between the United States and Ukraine for the joint production of Patriot air defence interceptors will not be finalised before winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. Whitaker stated that although long-term manufacturing agreements remain under negotiation alongside broader air defence initiatives with European allies, immediate production timelines remain constrained.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted commercial distribution centres across multiple Russian regions. Andrey Vorobyov, the governor of Moscow Oblast, reported at least five fatalities and ten injuries following a strike on a local warehouse facility. Russian regional authorities confirmed additional overnight strikes against logistics hubs operated by the e-commerce firm Wildberries in the Saint Petersburg and Tver regions, while the Russian defence ministry reported multiple aerial interceptions.
