US Patriot co-production deal delayed as Ukrainian drones strike Russian warehouses
A US-Ukraine Patriot missile production deal will not conclude before winter, as Ukrainian drone strikes target Russian distribution hubs near Moscow.
A bilateral agreement between the United States and Ukraine to co-produce Patriot air defense missiles will not be finalized before the coming winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. In a televised interview, Whitaker noted that while this specific long-term project faces delays, collaborative efforts with European allies to manufacture alternative air defense systems remain active.
Separately, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted logistics infrastructure across western Russia overnight. Warehouses belonging to online retailer Wildberries were struck in the Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Tver regions. Moscow Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that an attack on a facility outside the capital resulted in at least five deaths and left ten people injured, while defense officials claimed several drones were intercepted.
