US delays Patriot production deal with Ukraine as drone strikes hit Russian warehouses
A US-Ukraine Patriot missile deal is unlikely before winter, according to US envoy Matthew Whitaker, while Ukrainian drone strikes hit warehouses in several Russian regions.
A bilateral agreement between the United States and Ukraine to jointly produce Patriot air defence interceptor missiles is unlikely to be completed before winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. In an interview, Whitaker explained that although talks on long-term Patriot manufacturing continue, work remains underway to co-produce other air defence systems alongside European partners.
Simultaneously, Ukrainian drone operations targeted logistics hubs in several Russian regions. Moscow Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov stated that an overnight warehouse strike killed at least five people and injured ten others. Additional drone attacks struck facilities operated by the online retailer Wildberries in the Saint Petersburg and Tver regions, while the Russian defence ministry reported multiple drone interceptions.
