US delays Patriot co-production with Ukraine as Russian warehouses hit by drones
A US-Ukraine Patriot interceptor deal is delayed past winter, while Ukrainian drone strikes hit Russian logistics warehouses, leaving five dead near Moscow.
A planned agreement between the United States and Ukraine to jointly manufacture Patriot air defence interceptors will not be finalised before the coming winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. Whitaker indicated that while co-production of the advanced missile systems remains an ongoing objective, Washington and European partners continue working on other shared air defence initiatives.
Concurrently, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted commercial logistics hubs inside Russia. Moscow Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that an attack on a storage facility resulted in at least five deaths and ten injuries. Regional authorities also noted overnight drone activity against warehouses run by online retailer Wildberries across the Saint Petersburg and Tver regions, alongside broader aerial interceptions claimed by the Russian defence ministry.
