US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian operatives over sabotage and assassination plots, while a German court convicted a Ukrainian national in a linked parcel bomb scheme.
United States prosecutors in Manhattan have unsealed charges against five alleged Russian intelligence operatives for orchestrating a global campaign of assassinations, surveillance, and sabotage against allies of Ukraine. According to the Department of Justice, the suspects recruited intermediaries across North America and Europe to target individuals supporting Kyiv, including an operative connected to a June 2024 attack in Prague. All five accused individuals remain at large.
Meanwhile, a German court in Stuttgart convicted a Ukrainian national for participating in a Kremlin-linked plot to ship explosive parcel bombs containing tracking devices through European logistics networks. Prosecutors said the operation aimed to disrupt infrastructure and compromise public security.
