US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian intelligence agents over global plots, while a German court convicted a Ukrainian man over a parcel bomb scheme.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have unsealed charges against five alleged Russian intelligence operatives for conspiring to carry out assassinations, surveillance, and sabotage across North America and Europe. According to the United States Department of Justice, the suspects recruited intermediaries to target individuals supporting Ukraine, including an operative linked to a June 2024 attack in Prague. The accused individuals remain at large.

In a related development, the Higher Regional Court in Stuttgart, Germany, convicted a Ukrainian national for participating in a Kremlin-backed parcel bomb scheme. Authorities stated that the operation involved shipping packages containing tracking units and explosive materials through European logistics networks to disrupt infrastructure and undermine public confidence in security.
