Tensions between Washington and Tehran intensified after the first military exchange in a month, with both sides issuing warnings amid heightened military readiness.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have intensified following the first exchange of military fire between the two nations in a month. Explosions were reported near the southern Iranian coastal cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik.

US President Donald Trump warned of potential follow-up strikes if Tehran chooses to retaliate, adding that Iranian leadership was "begging" for a diplomatic deal. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that while his country does not seek a broader conflict, Tehran will "respond decisively to aggressors."

Despite the military engagement, Iranian defense officials asserted that their naval forces remain fully operational and continue routine maneuvers in the region. Direct diplomatic negotiations remain stalled as both countries maintain heightened military readiness.
