128 UN states agreed on a definition for autonomous weapons as European militaries and NATO advance AI integration.

During talks in Geneva, 128 United Nations member states agreed on an official definition for autonomous weapon systems. Following the accord, the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross warned that machine-led human targeting risks "crossing a moral red line."

Concurrently, European militaries are advancing artificial intelligence integration. Newly disclosed German military concept papers show semi-autonomous weapons may operate without step-by-step human involvement, though a defence spokesperson stated "the decision on the use of military force remains with humans." Germany also rejected US vendor Palantir to develop its own internal AI data analysis software.

Additionally, Ukraine and NATO have jointly developed two AI applications designed to predict enemy drone routes and optimize artillery fire support.
