128 UN states agreed on a definition for autonomous weapons as Germany and Ukraine advance military AI integration.

During talks in Geneva, 128 United Nations member states agreed on a formal definition for autonomous weapon systems. Following the accord, the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross cautioned that machine-led human targeting risks "crossing a moral red line."

Simultaneously, European armed forces are expanding their artificial intelligence capabilities. Newly disclosed concept documents from Germany's military indicate that semi-autonomous weapons could execute operational phases without step-by-step human intervention, though a defense spokesperson reiterated that "the decision on the use of military force remains with humans." Germany also rejected software from US provider Palantir, opting to build an internal AI data analysis platform.

Additionally, Ukraine and NATO have jointly developed two AI applications designed to predict hostile drone trajectories and optimize artillery fire support.
