Ukrainian forces advance near Kupiansk as heavy fighting persists across frontlines

Intense combat continues across eastern and southern Ukraine, with the Ukrainian General Staff reporting over 220 clashes in a single day. Russian forces focused heavy assault operations on the Pokrovsk and South Slobozhan sectors, launching dozens of ground attacks.

Simultaneously, tactical shifts were reported along several frontlines. Ukrainian troops advanced north of Kupiansk along the Oskil River and made gains near Lyman. In contrast, Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed its forces captured several settlements near Sumy and targeted ammunition facilities in the Kyiv region. In Zaporizhzhia, Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov publicly rejected claims of recent Ukrainian tactical successes.
