Ukraine's prosecutor general accuses anti-corruption chief of fraud before leaving country

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko accused NABU chief Semen Kryvonos of forgery before leaving the country, prompting President Zelenskyy to request his removal.
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced charges against Semen Kryvonos, the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), accusing him of forging official documents for financial gain and orchestrating a fake adoption to evade prosecution. Following the announcement, Ukrainian media reported that Kravchenko left the country, while President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked parliament to remove him from his post.
NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office stated that Kryvonos was never formally served a suspicion notice, describing the accusations as a continuing campaign against independent anti-corruption agencies. The dispute occurs alongside NABU investigations into an alleged criminal group involving current and former parliamentarians as well as officials from the President's Office.
